The tartness of grapefruit is tamed by the sweet flavors of raspberries and strawberries in this smoothie. Served chilled, this strawberry raspberry grapefruit smoothie is a delightful treat on a hot summer day.
There’s something about grapefruit that draws me in. I just love the tartness of it. Blending it with some of my other favorite summer fruits makes this a delightful summer drink to sip in the backyard.
Grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C, a vitamin that helps to support the immune system. Foods rich in vitamin C may help reduce cold symptoms or the severity of cold symptoms. Pink and red grapefruit also contain the antioxidant lycopene, which can help to fight oxygen free radicals (compounds that can damage cells).
Strawberries have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory health benefits, and are rich in vitamin C and manganese. They also have cardiovascular benefits, and help to control blood sugar.
This smoothie also contains raspberries, which are high in vitamin C, manganese, and fiber. Raspberries also have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
