If you’ve read my past posts, you’ll know I’m a HUGE fan of citrus flavors. Especially when it comes to lemon. I think it goes back to the days when my dad and I would see who could eat the most lemon wedges at restaurants.
Lemonade is my go-to drink when I’m looking for something refreshing with more flavor than water. It doesn’t matter what season we’re in, either. Lemonade is an all-season thirst quencher.
This strawberry lemonade smoothie adds a little sweetness to straight-up lemonade. By adding in your favorite protein powder, you have a wonderful thirst quenching meal replacement!
If you want to add even more flavor to this smoothie, try adding 1/4 tsp of dried basil.
To make it a little thicker, chia seeds are a great option. They also help to boost fiber and protein.
Strawberries are packed with vitamin C. One serving contains more vitamin C than an orange. They have a unique combination of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients providing cardiovascular support and improved blood sugar regulation.
Lemons are a moderately good source of vitamin C. They are packed with health benefits including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, digestion, energy boost, immunity boost, mental boost, and cleanse/detox.
Bananas are high in potassium, containing over 400 mg in a single medium size banana. They also contain a good amount of vitamin C, vitamin B6, manganese, and fiber. Bananas provide some calcium, vitamin A, vitamin E, magnesium, and iron.

Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie
- 1/2 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 lemon, peeled and seeds removed
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 tsp vanilla powder or extract (optional, skip this if you are using vanilla protein powder)
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder (optional, the one I use can be found here)
- 3/4 cup water (more if using frozen fruit)
- 4 to 5 ice cubes (skip if using frozen fruit)
If you want to use a thickener, try 1 tbsp chia seeds.
For even more flavor, try adding 1/4 tsp dried basil.
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
