This orange black pepper green smoothie is completely different from any smoothie I’ve made before. I’m so excited about it because it’s absolutely delicious!
I typically enjoy smoothies that are sweet in taste and this smoothie is so different. This smoothie has a wonderful savory taste that will not disappoint! It was inspired by a chicken curry recipe that included peppery-tasting ingredients like endives and bok choy. I couldn’t find endives in my grocery store so I substituted dandelion greens. It got me thinking about how peppery dandelion greens taste and what flavors they would go well within a smoothie.
That’s how this smoothie was born! Even if this recipe sounds like a stretch from your usual smoothies I really encourage you to give it a try. It’s my newest favorite smoothie.
Oranges are full of vitamin C – a powerful vitamin with strong antioxidant properties. Vitamin C is a natural immune system booster and may help fight the common cold, flu, and other infections. Oranges also contain high amounts of folate and fiber and are low in calories. The white inner membrane under the skin contains more vitamin C than the flesh and a lot of the pectin fiber. Try to include as much of that in your smoothie to get the most health benefits.
Dandelion greens are loaded with vitamin K, and vitamin A. They are also high in vitamin C, fiber, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, potassium, and manganese.
Dandelions help support bone strength and can help regulate blood pressure. They also promote skin, eye, and heart health.
Black pepper is very high in manganese. It is also a source of vitamin K, copper, fiber, and calcium. It is known for improving digestion and supporting intestinal health. Black pepper has antibiotic and antibacterial properties that helps to support the digestive tract.

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
