Now that it’s almost summer, I’ve unwittingly shifted into summer smoothie flavor mode. It isn’t on purpose and I draw on the inspiration of the flavors of summer. Yes, pear is a later in the summer fruit, but I’ve had plenty of summer cocktails with pears so I’m counting them as a summer fruit 🙂 The refreshing flavors of pear and cucumber blend nicely with kale, making this cucumber pear green smoothie a cool treat!
Pears have many antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and are a great source of fiber. This means it takes longer for your body to digest the food so you stay fuller longer. Cucumbers and kale also have many antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, making this quite the power smoothie. Kale is known to play a role in supporting the body’s detoxification process.
Tip: To make the smoothie blend smoother, try removing the stems from the kale.

Cucumber Pear Green Smoothie
For extra fiber add 1 tbsp chia seeds.
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
