It’s such a simple smoothie to make and it’s so delicious.

Have you tried adding nuts to your smoothies? When I first started making smoothies it took me a long time to think of adding nuts to them. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it because they add a wonderful flavor and help to keep you full for longer.

I made this smoothie with hazelnuts because I’ve been on a hazelnut kick lately. I’ve been experimenting with smoothie combinations they blend well with and it turns out they taste great with just about anything! You could also use almonds if you’re looking for a light nut flavor or walnuts if you want this smoothie to taste more nutty.

Adding chia seeds to this smoothie helps to thicken it and adds protein and fiber. Learn how to use chia seeds in smoothies here.

Health Benefits

Blackberry

Blackberries have high amounts of dietary fiber and are a great source of vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K and pectin. Blackberries are low in calories at only 62 calories per cup. The fiber in blackberries will help keep you feeling full for longer.

Chia seeds

Chia seeds flavors range from a very mild slightly nutty taste to tasteless, making them a great addition to pretty much anything. They are packed with fiber, calcium, protein, antioxidants, and many essential minerals. They are also low in calories.

Hazelnut

Hazelnuts are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. They contain high amounts of vitamin E and B vitamins, including folate. Vitamin E is used for maintaining healthy skin, hair and nails. B vitamins are important to metabolism. Hazelnuts are also loaded with potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
